What is EXIF metadata?

EXIF is information embedded in many image files. It can describe the camera, capture time, technical settings and sometimes the location where a photo was taken.

Common fields

• Camera and lens model
• Capture date and time
• Exposure, aperture and ISO
• GPS latitude and longitude
• Software used to process the image

Metadata is not the image
